"Government tyranny" criticism of the TikTok bill is reactionary

There are good reasons to oppose a ban on TikTok, but "the government shouldn't be allowed to do that" isn't it.

The US House of Representatives have passed a bill demanding that Chinese company ByteDance has to sell its controlling stake in TikTok if the company is to continue to operate in the United States. It’s a reactionary and obnoxious piece of legislation to be sure, but what I’ve found even more disquieting is watching so many left critics take issue with it for all of the wrong reasons.
