I have been watching with some amusement over the past few months as liberals and leftists wrestle over what to do about “The Groups.” In case you are unfamiliar with this, The Groups is the name a clique of liberals like Adam Jentleson and Matt Yglesias have given to some liberal NGOs. Not all of them, but specifically ones that they think are pressuring Democrats into adopting positions that hurt their electability. As you may have guessed, these NGOs do not include institutions like The Chamber of Commerce or The Brookings Institute; these are all “progressive” organizations that are focused on left concerns like climate change, egalitarianism, abortion rights, and so on.
